The Verde Valley Council of the Blind is a local non-profit organization which assists visually impaired and blind people with:

support and sharing

social activities such as bowling, movies, coffee klatches

assistive devices and technology, and

promotion of special needs.

The Verde Valley Council of the Blind is a chapter of the Arizona Council of the Blind, which in turn is a member of the American Council of the Blind.

CAzCB is a chapter of the Arizona Council of the Blind (AzCB), serving the Valley of the Sun – the metropolitan Phoenix area. All are welcome – blind, visually impaired, or sighted.

Meetings

We have a meeting or a social/recreational activity monthly, generally the fourth Saturday of the month.

What Do We do?

We work on advocacy and outreach projects, such as getting the word out to blind/visually impaired people that there are services and products available to enhance their lives.

We enjoy each other’s company and share information.

We arrange recreational activities, such as audio-described movies, concerts, field trips, etc.

History

This chapter emerged in March 2017, by combining the Maricopa Club with the Phoenix chapter of the Arizona Council.

Dues

Annual dues are $5, in addition to the $10 which covers membership in both our national organization – the American Council of the Blind – and our state affiliate – the Arizona Council of the Blind.
